YSL Baby Doll Kiss and Blush – Fuchsia Desinvolte (01) Review, Swatches, FOTD and Dupes

Hello all,

Happy New Year. Hope you all are doing good. Today is the first anniversary of my blog.  I know I am not very regular with my posts but I am happy that I am doing what I like. I would like to thank my buddy Tanvi who always encouraged me to start the blog.  All my posts are first sent to her. Thanks Tan 😘.

Does it happen to you that you see something on some website and you want it in your collection??  It happened to me with the product that I am going to review today.

I had seen YSL Baby Doll Kiss and Blush on Rati’s Indian Makeup and Beauty Blog and the moment I saw it I wanted to add it to my make-up collection.

YSL Kiss and Blush is soft matte lip and cheek color. I got it in the shade Fuschia Desinvolte 01. Lets see how it fared for me.

What YSL says:-Kiss your cheeks. Blush your lips. Play with color and mix and match your lips and cheeks. Yves Saint Laurent introduces the latest innovation in the edgy Baby Doll attitude. This 2 in 1 ultra blendable air whipped mousse beautifully highlights your lips and cheeks with a sensual soft matte finish. Available in 12 signature YSL shades.”

Price and Availability:-

SGD 50 (approximately Rs. 3000) for 10ml. Not available in India

List of Ingredients:-

My Take on the Product :-
This Kiss and Blush comes in a square glass bottle which resembles a nail Enamel bottle. It has the signature golden cap of YSL and the bottle looks super classy.  It comes with a tapered applicator with a sponge.

Fuchsia Desinvolte is a bright fuchsia with cool blue undertones which instantly brightens up my face. It has an air-whipped mousse like consistency and soft matte velvetty texture.

Look at unique applicator

This 2 in 1 product is well pigmented and when used as a blush it gives a gentle flush of pink and stays for about 6-7 hours on my cheeks.

This is just a single swipe.

For hygiene issues, I don’t some how use it much on my lips.  On lips I get an opaque coverage in just two swipes. It stays for 2-3 hours on my lips.

How Do I Use it as a Blush:-

I apply 3 dots on my cheeks pat it and blend it using my fingers.  You need to blend it really well or else it looks like a blotch on your cheek.

Used on cheeks in the below picture

To Sum Up
Pros :-

  1. Mousse like consistency
  2. Soft matte
  3. Color instantly brightens my face
  4. Well pigmented
  5. Lasts 6-7 hours as a blush
  6. Unique tapered applicator which picks up just the correct amount of product
  7. Classy looking Bottle.

Cons:-

  1. Not available in India
  2. Expensive
  3. Needs to be blended well on cheeks.

 Final Thoughts:-

Though I hardly use it on my lips and the fact that it is expensive,  it has to be one of my favorite product for cheeks.  If I get a chance I am definitely going to buy Rouge Effronte from this range.

MFL Rating:-

4.5/5

Possible Dupes:-

Nyx Whipped Lip and Cheek Souffle in Pink Lace and  the newly launched our very own Lakme 9-5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip and Cheek Color in Fuschia Sude.

Do give YSL Kiss and Blush a shot if you can,  I am sure you won’t be disappointed.

Bye for now.. Cya soon.
